How I build: traction over everything.
I'm Andrew. I build first versions that actually get used — and I've spent my career learning, the expensive way, that the market does not care how elegant your idea is. It cares whether real people will use it, and whether some of them will pay. This is what I believe.
I.
Traction beats a beautiful, ready idea. Every time.
A polished idea nobody uses is worth zero. A rough thing ten people can't stop using is worth building a company around. Progress is validated learning — measured by what customers actually do, not by features shipped or applause at a demo. It's the only honest scoreboard there is.
II.
Get it in front of users. Now. Before you're ready.
Nothing real happens inside your building. Every day a product lives in a Figma file is a day of pure fiction. An MVP isn't a smaller product — it's the fastest experiment that turns an assumption into evidence. Put the thing in a stranger's hands and watch what they do, not what they say.
III.
A user who pays is worth a hundred who clap.
Applause is a vanity metric. Money is a vote that costs the voter something. Free users tell you your idea is pleasant; paying users tell you it's necessary. Is the offer valuable, repeatable, and teachable enough to run without me? If not, you don't have a company — you have a hobby with invoices.
IV.
Ship weekly. Iterate relentlessly. Love the loop, not the plan.
The plan is a hypothesis with delusions of grandeur. What compounds is the build–measure–learn loop, run faster than anyone else in your market. Small releases, real feedback, honest metrics, next release. Pivot or persevere — but decide on evidence, not ego.
V.
Scope is a design act. The hardest, most valuable one.
The fastest route to a product people use is deciding what not to build. Amateurs add; professionals cut. Scope every build down to the smallest slice that can prove the core hypothesis in weeks, ship that, and let reality decide what comes next. A tight scope isn't a limitation — it's the only exit an unproven idea has.
VI.
Have a secret, and a reason it's now.
The best companies are built on a secret — an important truth few people agree with you on yet. Ask the contrarian question, then ask its twin: why now? With AI, the answer is finally, unambiguously now — the cost of turning an idea into working software has collapsed, and the founders who feel that in their hands rather than their headlines will win the next decade.
VII.
Know your why — then go get it done.
People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it — a clear purpose is what earns trust. But purpose without shipping is just a nicer way to fail. Conviction is the message; velocity is the delivery. Both, always.
VIII.
Founder-level ownership, hired by the build.
I'm not a pair of hands waiting for a ticket. I take responsibility for the outcome — the working product, the first paying users, the honest read on whether this is worth continuing. Predictable delivery over heroics. Founder mentality, on demand.
